Overview

Roosters Steak & Chop House, nestled in the heart of Klamath Falls, Oregon, offers a classic steakhouse experience with a strong focus on quality and flavor. Located at 205 Main St, this spot draws both locals and visitors craving hearty, well-crafted meals in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The menu centers on expertly prepared steaks and chops, with notable highlights such as the 20 oz bone-in ribeye, lamb chops, and slow roasted short ribs. Diners can also savor dishes like Chicken Marsala Portabella or the Bone In Thick Spicy Pineapple Glazed Pork Chop, which add variety outside the traditional steakhouse fare. Roosters doesn’t shy away from seafood either, with offerings like fresh Dungeness crab and chilled jumbo prawns enhancing the appeal.

Star attractions on the menu include the Lobster Mac and Cheese and Chicken Parmesan, which regularly receive praise for their rich flavors and satisfying portions. The house salad and appetizer platters provide balanced starters that prepare the palate for the main course. Meanwhile, their desserts, such as tiramisu, round out the meal with a sweet finish.

Roosters shines in delivering steaks cooked to order with precise attention to doneness, often exceeding expectations in tenderness and taste. Guests frequently commend the medium and medium-rare steaks, noting the kitchen's skill in handling thick-cut beef. Though the food garners high praise, the service can be uneven—some patrons experience slower responses from waitstaff, a factor to consider for those seeking a brisk dining pace.

The ambiance strikes a balance between lively and relaxed, filling up as the evening progresses. The space caters well to steak enthusiasts, families, and travelers looking for a classic American steakhouse with a hint of regional character. The music is understated but can lean into popular country tunes, which may or may not suit every diner’s mood.

Overall, Roosters Steak & Chop House delivers a satisfying and authentic steakhouse experience. It appeals to patrons who prioritize bold flavors and quality cuts over swift service. For anyone visiting Klamath Falls or locals wanting a dependable steak, Roosters offers hearty portions, expertly prepared dishes, and a genuine steakhouse atmosphere that is hard to beat in the area.

One of the best places to eat in town!! Traveling from out of state and needed a great meal and Roosters did not disappoint!! The scalloped potatoes and lobster Mac n cheese are the best!! Steaks were great! Only thing I would dock them on was the service, waiters were a little slower.

Service could be better, but 12 oz USDA Prime Wagyu Ribeye for $55 earned them 5 stars. Their other steak prices are unreal, go to Portland and these steaks would be closer to $100. They cooked the steak to a medium rare perfection, and it was exceptionally tasty. Service took forever, but the steak was worth it.

I got the top sirloin. I ordered it medium rare but the server talked to me about the steaks thickness and i decided to go with the medium instead of the medium rare at her recommendations of how thick the cut is and was really happy with her recommendation.

Good was excellent! Our waitress was wonderful at first. Then disappeared for at least 1/2 hour. I don't think the table near us ordered before that happened. The atmosphere was quiet, but as the restaurant filled up, it grew a bit noisy.

UPDATE: So I returned to see if there was an improvement. Unfortunately, I have to say I was disappointed. Per my original review below, I was excited to receive the charcuterie plate. This time - NO PLATE. Not sure if they just forgot or what. I ordered onion rings, a cocktail (which they don't have any signature drinks, so you'll just have to ask for your favorite) and water - along with dinner and desert. I finished my water pretty quickly, but it took 20 minutes for it to be refilled. It was well over an hour since ordering, and hadn't received my complete meal yet. It ended up being close to 90 min. I'm a fan of music playing in the bar area. Most of the time ( maybe an hour ) it has been just silent. Then one of the staff started a Blake Shelton disc. I like Blake, but to listen to the same artist's entire album seems a little much. The Ribeye was good. The steak knife was wood and the blade was loose inside the handle. Maybe time to replace it. The lava cake was a ring with the center filled with chocolate. Typically, it's filling inside of cake, so a little different. Still tasty. Overall, I would say if you want to spend an evening eating dinner, don't mine having to ask for service or at least risk having one that is attentive and don't care what background music is playing, you will not be disappointed. Roosters just isn't a good fit for me. If you do go, the Ribeye was better than the Halibut. Updated my stars down to reflect this most recent visit. It was a different server today than last visit. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The first thing to notice was the charcuterie plate you receive when seated. It's a nice touch. There was apparently a large group at the restaurant the evening I was dining, so it may not be a fair review for my first visit. I felt like the portion size was good. I chose the Halibut and I was too full for dessert, but I also had coconut shrimp for an appetizer. For me, the shrimp were a little over-cooked. When I try Roosters again, I'll skip that and try one of their desserts. The Halibut seemed a little undercooked and only warm compared to the other food. But, certainly worth another try. The staff seemed very caring and attentive.

It was the final night of our 19 day vacation, first since 2008. The hotel recommended Roosters when asked what the best fine dining in town. We were taken aback as we entered this establishment with its old world charm and decor. We were taken to a center table with nice lighting. Not a fan of dark modern restaurants. Clean table cloth almost looked starched. A waitress soon came and asked how we were, filled water glasses and passed out two menus each and a wine list. We had agreed that being our last night before heading home, the world was the limit. We ordered the fruit appetizer and the caviar salads my wife wanted the fresh filet of salmon I ordered for the two of use which included the lamb chops for myself. We enjoyed a glass of wine with the start and another with our meals. Everything was superb. Waitress and staff engaged when engaged, and were very courteous and friendly. I was a wonderful final experience that sweetly and romantically capped off our vacation.

Food was very good. Would definitely recommend. The atmosphere was a bit odd. The restaurant was Very dark which makes it feel fancy but hides some imperfections in the building. Overall its a very good restaurant id recommend.

Our amazing waitress, Katherine. What a joy she was to meet. Made us feel so welcomed. She's hilarious. The atmosphere and food were perfect. Felt like a hidden gem. So glad we decided to stop. We were traveling and just spent the night. But area around there was beautiful.
